PVN is no more :-(

The death of PVN removes a great statesman and scholar from among our midst. I wud rate him as the saviour of India - not just for initiating the economic reforms in 1991 - but also ensuring that the likes of Arjun Singh did not gain power after Rajiv Gandhi's assassination. He has done a great favor to the country by getting somebody like Manmohan Singh as the Finance Minister and Chidambaram as his deputy. Although there'z no doubt that he bribed his way with MPs and made them defect parties to stay in power, I wud not hold this against the man at all. The country needed what he did then, and I'm absolutely convinced that preserving the interests of the country was his main intention and not just coincidence of a power play.

PVN may not have been a saint, but his contribution to the country was no less. I guess the country has not been completely fair to him and given him his due. Sonia sidelined him, although he wud've been of no threat to her greed for control, the country was never grateful to him for we know not where we wud be if not for him. Hats off to the man, and may his soul attain the Truth. Of course we will have the mandatory eulogies after his death, but the Chanakya deserved much more.

Sorey ubout da spellin mistaks.
