Why Modi was discriminated?

A good article in rediff on why US decision to deny Modi visa is blatantly hyporitical. Another article in rediff adds to this. One thing I like about rediff is that they allow both the points of view! BTW, does anyone know what happened to Varsha Bhosle, one of the most fire-brand commentators in rediff???!!!

Bush, Modi and visa

Mr. David Mulford, the Amabassador of world's policeman has given very lucid reasons why a visa was denied to Narendra Modi. While all this is fine, I wonder if the same reasons can be held against Mr. George W Bush's visit to India later in the year? Can Mr. Bush be held responsible for the crimes inflicted by US soldiers in Iraqi prisons? Also, as one reader pointed out in The Hindu, quite a few of Mr.Bush's laws can fall under the same prerogative! What say Mr. Mulford?

Freaky movies

Watched the movie Freaky Chakra yesterday on StarOne. The movie left me wondering if the only reason why ppl make movies like this is to make a off-beat movie. The movie was very badly made, with no attention to details, and one can very much describe the whole movie in may be 2-3 lines. It is probably in to make off-beat movies, but one hopes such attempts are serious rather than an attempt to titillate.

The pinkos in our media

Not sure first used the term to refer to the pseudo-intellectual journos in India, but Varsha Bhosle used the term quite often! After reading this article one realises why these buggers deserve to be called pinkos. Also Swapan Dasgupta's term - fundamental secularists - suits them most apt. Rajeev Dhawan writes what can at best be called a guilt's last ditch attempt to defend the indefensible. Itz pathetic that such ppl pass off senior journalists :(

Sonia shows her true colors

The Jharkhand Governor's decision to invite UPA to form govt must be one of the most partisan acts a governor has done in the history of India. Move over Mr.Romesh Bhandari and Mr.Motilal Vohra. Here comes Mr.Syed Sibtey Razi. Either Mr. Razi is an absolute dumbo-crawler, or he has a very good sense of humor to invite Shibu Soren within 2 hrs of he just providing him with just a list of MLAs while he asked more time from Arjun Munda after he paraded 41 MLAs in front of him! Now we know why the Cong was so eager to get-rid of the NDA appointed governors! As my father commented, Sonia seems to be following on the footsteps of her ma-in-law.

Let there be a dozen such lion-souls in each country, lions who have broken their own bonds, who have touched the Infinite, whose whole soul is gone to Brahman, who care neither for wealth nor power, nor fame, and these will be enough to shake the world.
